Dispute policy summary
Draft summary. The policy track owns the final text.
A buyer reports bad rows once per delivery, within the acceptance window, and names rows, never values. The terms pinned in the contract decide what happens next: refund_on_request refunds the named rows at once, market_arbitration lets the seller fix the named rows once and then has the market check a sample, and none is a correction request only.
Rows that say "cannot tell" are paid for. Report them to get their price back.
How arbitration works
- The market pays for the checks and charges no party. The budget is 4 percent of the job's price, and the sample is at least 20 rows where that many are in dispute and at most 200.
- A method decides money only after it answers at least 100 calibration rows with at most 2 percent error, and it is recalibrated at least every 30 days. The Market Card's
dispute_policy.checkablelists the fields that are checkable now. - The market subtracts its checker's error of up to 2 percent from the result before it refunds anything.
- Arbitration is available when the purchase is at or above the Work Type's
arbitration_minimumand at least one field is checkable. Otherwise the offering'sarbitration_fallbackapplies, and the quote shows the terms before the award. - Avair Market's dispute time limit is 72 hours. A report that names units covers at most 10,000 of them. A report that names no units covers every counted unit.
A report Avair Market does not resolve by the settlement deadline refunds the buyer half the value of the answered rows reported, from the seller's pay. Avair Market pays nothing and neither record is marked.
An example
A buyer pays $45.00 for a job and reports all 994 counted rows, and the market does not resolve the report by the settlement deadline. Of that payment, $22.36 is released: $17.88 to the seller and $4.48 to the market as its fee. The buyer gets $22.64 back to the balance.
